Microdosing, explained
This information is educational and not a substitute for medical advice. Please consult a healthcare professional with questions specific to you.
What is a microdose?
A microdose is a small fraction of a full psilocybin dose — typically around 1/10th to 1/20th — taken to produce subtle shifts in mood and perception rather than a hallucinogenic experience. A microdose is generally considered to be under 0.3 grams.
How is it taken?
Our microdoses come in capsule form, filled with ground mushroom powder, for a consistent and easy-to-measure dose.
What are the benefits?
People commonly report sharper focus, more creativity, steadier energy and motivation, reduced anxiety and stress, better sleep, stronger relationships, and improved problem-solving. Individual experiences vary.
How often should I microdose?
A common pattern is dosing every 2–3 days over a period of 1–3 months, though some people prefer a daily rhythm and others go longer than three months depending on their intentions and how they feel. Let your own experience guide the schedule, and check in with a healthcare provider if you're unsure.
Is microdosing addictive?
No — psilocybin is not considered addictive.
How long do the effects last?
The immediate effects of a single microdose can last up to 24–48 hours, though the most noticeable shifts tend to happen within the first several hours.
What time of day should I take it?
Morning is generally recommended, ideally without stimulants like caffeine layered on top. Consistency in timing matters more than the exact hour you choose.
Are there side effects?
Reported side effects are uncommon and vary by individual. If you feel unwell, stop and check in with a healthcare professional.
Will I feel "high"?
At a proper microdose, you shouldn't feel high or out of control. If you do, lower your dose or pause altogether.
What if I take more than intended?
Exceeding your usual dose can produce noticeably hallucinogenic effects. If that happens, find a calm, safe space, and reach out to a healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
Can I microdose while pregnant or breastfeeding?
There's no research on this, so we don't recommend it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Who should avoid microdosing?
If you have a personal or family history of psychosis, are on certain medications, or are otherwise unsure whether this is right for you, please consult a licensed healthcare professional before starting, and do your own research beyond this page.
How should microdoses be stored, and do they expire?
Store capsules in a cool, dry place. For best potency, we recommend using them within 9–12 months.
